Strategic & Financial Planning
At Pietsch Partners we provide assistance with the development of Strategic and Financial Plans for businesses.
Strategic Planning sets priorities and focuses the resources of the organisation to strengthen operations and ensure shareholders, management and employees are working towards common goals and there is an established agreement with and assessment of intended results and outcomes.
Effective strategic planning incorporates the who, what and why the organisation exists and focuses on the future. Who does the organisation provide goods or services to, what does the organisation do and why does the organisation do it.
A strategic plan is a document used to communicate the organisations goals, actions required to achieve the goals, and assessment of outcomes.
Whilst there are various methods of developing a strategic plan, the main principals are:
1. Current - where is the business now. Current "SWOT", being strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis of the business.
2. Future - where do you want the business to be in the future and why. The vision of the company.
3. Actions - what actions are required to take the business in the future direction and who is accountable for the outcomes.
4. Review - regular review and assessment of the outcomes, update on progress and implementation of any changes required.
The strategic plan is a high level plan for the business over a 3 to 5 year period, with more detailed annual plans developed to support the strategic plan.
Financial Planning is one of the detailed plans to support the success of the business plan. The financial plan provides budgeting and forecasting at a high level over 3 to 5 years, with more detailed annual, quarterly and monthly budgets, forecasts, and reviews to actual results
